Michael (Mike) Blum has called the Rio Grande Valley home since 1972, arriving after two years in the U.S. Army and completing his master’s in City Planning. For more than five decades, he has helped shape the region through transformative projects including Cimarron Country Club, Sharyland Plantation, Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley–Edinburg, Valencia Marketplace–McAllen, and numerous manufacturing and logistics facilities across McAllen.
From 1989 to 1991, Mike served as President of First City Development Services Group, where he was engaged by Hunt Oil to prepare the Shary Plantation master plan. This work led him to identify the site of the future Anzalduas International Bridge and direct efforts to secure its Presidential Permit. In 1998, he met in McAllen with President Bill Clinton to present the case that helped lead to the permit’s approval in 1999. The bridge opened in 2009.
A former McAllen City Planner, Assistant City Manager, and Public Utility Board member, Mike has built a career grounded in market insight and strategic planning. Since beginning his real estate career in 1993, he has developed expertise across land, retail, office, and industrial sales and leasing.
Today, Mike serves as a Partner and Broker with NAI STX, working closely with the team to shape strategies, cultivate prospects, and negotiate successful transactions.
Whether buying, selling, leasing, or trading—around the corner or around the world, Mike and the NAI STX team are ready to serve.
